Keyword marketing is an important part of any internet business. But the problem is, the internet is a constantly changing world. Trying to keep pace can sometimes seem daunting. What may have worked six months ago might not be as effective now. There are ways to kick your keyword marketing into high gear.
The fact is, keywords aren’t just for web sites anymore. You can also set up an account at sites like YouTube and use keywords in your description. If your business is selling deer hunting equipment, then you can make video’s describing how to use a specific gun or “How to Hunt Deer with a Bow and Arrow”. etc. When you write your video description use you keywords.
Here are a few other places you can use keyword marketing other than your main website:
• Blogs – Blogs are a great way to write about current changes or issues in your industry.
• Facebook – Set up a Facebook fan pages that refers people to your web site.
• Twitter – Depending on your industry, sending out a twitter or two every day might be an added way to draw attention to what’s happening in your company.
• Squidoo and Hubpages – Write a few articles that answer questions or problems people have that’s connected to your business. Then refer them to your webpage for a free report or more information.
• Article directories – Post industry related articles on ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com. In the resource box give your web page address and once again, give them a reason to visit your page. A free eBook, report, or mini-ecourse are all good incentives. When they visit your page, make sure you have a place where they can sign up for your newsletter or mailing list.
Remember, your articles or posts can’t be a jumble of keywords sporadically placed for no reason. You have to write first for the reader. The article needs to flow in a concise manner and give the reader information in an easy to understand fashion. Otherwise, it won’t matter how many keywords there are because no one will finish reading the article.
When using keywords they should always be relevant. Don’t use keywords to bring people to a site that is on a completely different subject. This frustrates people and hurts your credibility.
If you don’t have the time to create a keyword campaign, you might consider letting an employee handle it or outsourcing it to a company that’s an expert on the subject.
Used in a strategic manner, keywords can be the way to bring interested, targeted customers to your web page. Though you may have to adapt it to the changing world of the internet, keyword marketing is still a vital part of the success of your web business.
